Are you guilty of bookmarking all those delicious looking recipes even though you know you may never get around to actually making them? Do you pin crafty ideas ready for a rainy day? What about that folder full of house redecorating ideas. Gone are the days of tearing out pages from magazines and filing them carefully in a display folder. We have swapped our scrapbooks and folders for websites that curate content.
Content curation is the process of gathering information relevant to a particular topic or area of interest. There are many websites that curate information, here are my top five.
Pinterest is a visual discovery platform people use to collect ideas for their different projects and interests using interactive boards.
Pocket is the content curation tool that helps you save something that you want to read, watch, or share later. Pocket works on any device at any time. Pocket is integrated into more that 1500 apps and is available for most major platforms and devices.
Bundlr helps you create "bundles" from your favourite sources across the web. You simply source blog posts, articles, tweets, quotes, links, video and other media and clip content into bundles.
Customize your Dashboard to monitor the things you care about online. Follow your social networks, be alerted to breaking news, or read articles on just the topics that interest you. View your calendar, to do list, emails and apps in one place. Connect your smart devices to automatically control the Internet of Things at your command.
The tool helps you to find content that will be of interest to your audience or content that should be avoided, by looking at whether people vote your lists (or those of others) either up or down.
